Biesterveld Album Features Ensemble Cast

Eric Koeppel

Over the past few months Eau Claire-based musician Jim Ulwelling has been recording This Old Town, a compilation of his folk-rock tunes from his B Squat Woody and the Bicycle Kids days back in the ’90s. The solo project, which he dubbed Biesterveld in honor of his mother’s heritage, features an ensemble of great musicians, some local and some all the way from Nashville. Musical contributors to the record include John Richardson (Gin Blossoms), Adam Ollendorff (Kacey Musgraves band), Phil Solem (The Rembrandts), Adam Beard (Will Hoge), Brian Schellinger (B Squat Woody), Ron Lee, Faith Ulwelling (Left Wing Bourbon), Sue Orfield, and more. That’s a lot of talent! Ulwelling hopes to release the album by the end of August and plans on doing some CD release gigs with the band as well. Visit www.biesterveldmusic.com to preview each song and search Biesterveld on Facebook for updates.
