Whether you want to admit it or not, scavenger hunts are the best things known to man. What other activity makes it socially acceptable to dash around like a maniac searching for hidden treasures? The Family Resource Center for Eau Claire County is holding a Where in Eau Claire Scavenger Hunt July 12. The event is a fundraiser for the center, and signing up a team (three to six players) costs $175. Registration includes food, drinks, and music. In order to win, you and your team must search all around the city of Eau Claire for hidden objects and complete as many tasks on the task list as you can in two hours. Your team will earn points along the way for completing these tasks, and the team with the most points brings home the bacon. (Well, probably not real bacon, but that would be a nice perk.) Make sure to grab your camera on the way out in your superhero gear (teams dressing up in themed costumes earn an extra 10 points) because you will be required to take photo or video documentation of the tasks you complete. If you want to start earning point now, your team can raise money to donate. Raising $50-$100 will net you five additional points; $101-$200 will get you 10 points; and raising $201 or more will get you 15 points. So start honing your searching skills and make sure you send in your registration fee because the hunt will be on before you know it.
