Joe Neary leads a trio that defines itself with simple, laid-back guitar and melodic vocals that play a large role within the music. The group consists of UW-Milwaukee graduate Joe Neary on guitar and vocals, UW-Eau Claire graduate Chris Halbauer on drums, and Wisconsin Lutheran College graduate Jordan Burmeister on bass guitar. Neary draws inspiration from the likes of Jason Mraz, Jack Johnson, Andy Grammer, Coldplay, and even Justin Timberlake for his falsetto lines. The group’s first full length album is titled From Love, To Loss, To Living and was inspired by the feelings that Neary felt during and after a bad break-up. “I feel like it’s very relatable with the cycle that people go through in general,” Neary said. The album is being funded through Kickstarter.com, but funding for this project ends March 13.
