Eau Claire voters can look forward to a civic enlightenment double-header on Thursday, March 7, when back-to-back candidate forums are planned at Chippewa Valley Technical College. At 6pm, the five hopefuls for three open seats on the Eau Claire school board will take the stage; at 7:15pm, they’ll be followed by the 10 contenders for five at-large seats on the Eau Claire City Council. The candidates will field questions about weighty local issues in a civil forum that’s designed to help voters make up their minds before casting ballots in the April 2 election. The forums will be held in the student commons area of CVTC’s Business Education Center, 620 W. Clairemont Ave. They are sponsored by the Eau Claire Area Chamber of Commerce, the Leader-Telegram, WAYY-AM, WQOW-TV (Channel 18), and Community Television.
