New Album Built By Wisconsin Built Builders

Technology can do some wonderful things. Take, for example, the latest release from indie lo-fi rockers Wisconsin Built. Rest Less, a project from Thom Fountain and Eric Charles Christenson, was recorded in a deliciously do-it-yourself manner, with financial, artistic, and logistical contributions from 30+ folks, and funded by an online Kickstarter campaign. The duo takes cues both musically and methodically from groups like Little Kid, How to Dress Well, and Adam Taylor Young. Where their first offering was an excursion into personal creativity, Rest Less is the the pair’s first fully fleshed out, honest-to-vinyl album. Says Fountain, “I think the differences between Maps and Rest Less shows the direction we were heading. I feel like Rest Less is a much more mature set of songs; Eric was very conscious of each part and each sample and we spent a lot of time just talking about the songs and what we wanted to get out of them.”
