Dreamy. Captivating. Divine. Another 500 adjectives could not encapsulate all of Jeanette Robbins’ recently published collection of poems and art titled Angel’s Mirth

From Page 1 we are met with Robbins confronting us burdened, worrisome folk with “a little piece of heaven here on earth at a time when it is needed most.” This brilliant Eau Claire poet kept her work hidden for years until starting a blog where she accrued a worldwide following, nourished by her words that were a “soft spot in hard world.”

Four chapters – titled Angels, Spiritual, Love, and Whimsical – are bridged together with the common thread of love. Love is not a small word to be thrown about to Robbins, but a deep conviction and passion. That relentless passion is demonstrated continually throughout her book. The Whimsical chapter encompasses several “child friendly” poems, which add to the variety of themes throughout this work.

When asked the reasoning behind that particular addition, Robbins responded, “Children are the essence of who we are. Throughout life we are then told the rules, regulations. People hurt us.”

The children’s poems at the end point us back to the fact that, by the end of our lives, we will return to the children we once were. When everything else is gone away, love is the one thing that connects us all.

She hopes this book is a “large dose of love” for readers. Robbins started putting her book together three years ago and is presently working on two children’s books.

Angel’s Mirth is available at The Local Store and on her website, AngelsMirth.com, both in print and through Amazon for e-book.
