Yuletide music.

Take the holidays back to the Old World this year with the release of the sequel Old World Yuletide II by local musical artists Ivar Lunde, Nanette Lunde, and Peter Phippen. Extending a project that started a year ago, Old World Yuletide is inspired by 17th and 18th century music and the instruments that created it. With Nanette on the harpsichords, Peter on the bamboo flute, and Ivar playing seven instruments, the album is the sound of the past. Creating music from the past takes a trio of musicians who understand the tradition of music by taking liberties with the scores of songs. Instruments like the Renaissance and Baroque flutes, a French double harpsichord, oboe da caccia, and soprano recorder recreate the songs we all know and love (such as Nutcracker and O Holy Night), and transforms them into a rich new arrangement. Produced and arranged by Ivar at Skyline Studios, this album gave the former UW-Eau Claire music professor and Eau Claire Chamber Orchestra conductor a chance to have some fun with talented local musicians.
