A one-day art exhibition at Racy’s (on Eau Claire’s Water Street) will celebrate the ever-rising cycling scene in the city. Organized by bike enthusiast and former Local Independence anchor David Smuhl, the event’s purpose is to “exhibit the everyday experiences people have biking in Eau Claire.” Photographic works from more than a dozen people will be on display in the performance annex of the coffee shop, as well as some bikes with blurbs on what they are and what role they play in the owner’s life. “The whole concept of street photography is something you don’t a whole in Eau Claire,” Smuhl said. “We have pictures of sunsets and loons and stuff, so this is a little new and different.” The event is Nov. 3, from 7-10pm, and Smuhl may continue to take submissions from the community.
