Bloomer Teen Publishes Young Adult Novel
Upstart local author Amelia Kimball, who just graduated from Bloomer High School and is an incoming freshman at UW-Eau Claire, used to write for herself, but now she hopes to reach others. Kimball started writing to pass the time while she waited for her mom, a schoolteacher, to finish grading and class prep. However, what began as an after-school hobby evolved into personal therapy. Amelia had trouble dealing with middle-school classmates and she discovered that “writing was always an escape.” The young writer channeled her frustrations into a story that is now a Young Adult novel, Inside Out. Kimball’s book is a classic identity-swap tale of a popular socialite and a bookworm forced to experience each other’s lives. Amelia hopes readers will find hope and inspiration in the story, which, despite its fantastic plot, covers “a lot of common issues that everyone deals with.” Inside Out is available at BarnesAndNoble.com and The Local Store.
