Listen up you artsy folk. Eco Byway is a regional art exhibition on the theme of ecological sustainability designed to provide visibility for innovative work. A Byway is a side road to the main route, and artists along the I-94 corridor from Michigan to Montana are invited to explore their ideas of Eco Byway. Artists who embrace the alternative pathways of sustainable art practices use the social impact of their artwork to become an integral part of their community, and that’s who they’re looking for. The exhibit will feature artwork with an environmental emphasis, mindful of social impact, and the sustainability of materials and production. Categories include: “Most Original Consideration of Material Burden,” “Most Innovative Social Impact,” and “Most Extraordinary Aesthetic Recycling.” Saint John’s University and the College of Saint Benedict in Minnesota will host Eco Byway beginning June 1. Online entries are due on March 27. Visit CSBSJU.edu/fine-arts/visual-arts/eco-byway.htm for further information.
