The art gallery in the Eau Claire Regional Arts Center finally got its own brand spanking new name! Now called the Janet Carson Gallery, the well-established space for Eau Claire’s art viewing pleasure has its own entrance on Eau Claire Street and a new renovated look complete with expanded retail and exhibition space. The gallery was named after Janet Carson (if you couldn’t figure that out yourself). A former professor in the Art and Design Department at UW-Eau Claire, Carson is also a nationally acclaimed artist. Her art donations helped get the ball rolling toward ECRAC renovations, making her the perfect choice for the gallery’s namesake. A Grand Opening ceremony was held on January 28 with the gallery featuring work from artists Laurie Bieze and Jane Evershed.
