Infinitea Tries a Poetry Slam on for Size

It's on.

It's on.
It’s been a little quiet on the poetry front in Eau Claire lately, so Infinitea owners Drew Seveland and Jeff Mares have decided to shake things up. On December 16, they will host their very first Winter Darkness Poetry Slam. “We’ve always been into the poetry stuff, but between campus and the Acoustic, it has always been covered,” says Seveland, “but now it doesn’t seem to happen regularly so we thought we would try it.” With everyone’s Seasonal Affective Disorder kicking in, there should be more than enough emo sentiment and restless longing to fill a stack of spiral bound notebooks. They will be slinging from their ridiculously large selection of teas while Eau Claire’s spoken word wranglers battle it out. Judges will be chosen from the audience, so even those who would rather gargle hot coals than step onto a stage should come down. “There’s been a lot of interest,” says Seveland. “Hopefully we get a good turnout.” Sign up at 6pm; start time is 7pm.
