Underground Festival Keeping It Local
Now in its third consecutive year, the Minneapolis Underground Film Festival will be held at the Minneapolis College of Art and Design December 3-5. The festival includes up and coming filmmakers, many of whom come from the Twin Cities. This year’s event will kick off on Friday night at 7pm with a double feature. Macumba, the first film, was produced and directed by the festival’s founder, Greg Yolen. It is followed by Abide, another local production. Other aspects to look forward to are two short film showcases, Q & A sessions with several of the filmmakers, another double program on Saturday featuring Going From Paradise Valley, Holy Cow! and Earth Dance, and the Minneapolis Project, a collection of 24 short films from 20 Minneapolis filmmakers. Tickets for individual shows are $9 and festival passes are $49. More information and a full film schedule are available at www.minneapolisundergroundfilmfestival.com.
