Local 'Hot Head' Publishes Second Photo Book
V1 Staff |
Ever seen the movies American Graffiti, The Fast and the Furious, Hot Rods to Hell? Yeah, we’re talking about cars – cars whose large engines have been modified for speed. No one is better acquainted with these coolclassics than Chadly Johnson, a local hot rod hunter and tinkerer, whose passion ushered him into the realm of writing as well as photography. His second photo book, Hot Heads, was published this spring. Through a series of exclusively black-and-white photographs, it expresses the short-lived history of the Hot Heads motor club that convened in a Water Street garage between 2005 and 2009, of which Johnson was a member. Johnson and said retro rebuilders have also been featured in Ol’ Skool Rodz – the magazine that initially kindled Johnson’s interest in rare hot rods.
