Seventy-Two Miles CD Release
married couple comprises new folksy duo
Seventy-Two Miles is an emerging husband and wife duo from our beautiful Eau Claire producing succulent airy sounds of the joys of romanticism, with a little pain behind the music. Stephanie and Derrick Williams are akin to folk with a slight mist of alt-country. And with their new self-titled, self-produced album about to be released, Seventy-Two Miles is preparing to walk head-on into the limelight. While many musicians immediately jump at the opportunity to become recording artists for a music label, Seventy-Two Miles seem to be fighting The Man by producing their own work (and Derrick released a solo album a few years back on his own as well). Doing so definitely has its advantages: Stephanie and Derrick are able to mix up their musical arrangement to their liking (a little bit of alt-country here, a dash of traditional ballad there). If you can't make the show, the band's MySpace provides a peek at the LP. Because it is clear that this husband and wife team has an everlasting sound that should certainly be romanticized over and certainly enjoyed.
