Survive the (Food) Drive
These past few weeks local alt rock band Survive the Drive has been on a regional mini-tour to help feed more than 100 needy families for Thanksgiving. They’re calling their seven-week tour Feed the Need, and partnered with the Feed My People Food Bank, which distributes more than 2 million pounds of food each year to agencies in 14 counties in west central Wisconsin. The food bank will be the primary beneficiary of all physical and monetary donations at each of their shows. There’s no charge to attend, however the band appreciates donations. The regional mini-tour began Oct. 5 and continues to late November, spanning Superior, Colfax, Amery, Rice Lake, Menomonie, and Spooner. The band has local performances at The Cabin on Nov. 5, Higherground on Nov. 7, a CD release show at House of Rock on Nov. 12, and a final tour event at UWEC on Nov. 20.
