TEN PAGES? REALLY?
Okay, you know I admire your creative, arts-filled magazine. And I watched a TV show on arts education on Ovation, very interesting stuff. So I got my V1 in the mail, I see the school arts feature and begin reading ... flip page, flip page ...10 pages?! Could have been a three-part or two-part series. Obviously a great story and an important one, but I got about halfway through and my eyes needed a break. (Perhaps I’m just old) Also, I see the tiny blurb about Ingrid Michaelson coming to Stout, she’s awesome (may want to correct her spelling) but no one will catch it – perhaps I’ll catch her show or read about it in your next issue. You’re still No. 1 but c’mon dude, 10-page feature? Okay, enough ranting ... gotta read the final five pages of your arts story ...

MY MOM LOVED THAT ART FEATURE
I will use this article as a reference/talking point. Hope V1 continues to produce work like this. I should add my Mom, a retired teacher, read it and really liked it.
This is a kicker:
“The state merely “recommends” that elementary children get at least 30 minutes of art a week, so the board is fully in compliance.”
No wonder parents have little confidence in the public school system.
