Not much goes better than a cold beer and a hot day, but Gordy’s Valley Spirits and the Chippewa Youth Hockey Association are up there. The duo have teamed up for the first Northwest BeerFest, right here in the Chippewa Valley. The Fest, to be held inside the Chippewa Area Ice Arena, will showcase more than 100 Midwest beers and 30 vendors to sample from. Some participating vendors include New Glarus, Leinie’s, Dogfish Head, Tyranena, Viking, Point, and Sand Creek, among others. This must-see event for beer enthusiasts allows ticket-holders to sample beer in a commemorative glass, which they can later take home as a souvenir. And for those of you who think beer is best enjoyed with a meal (included with your ticket), you can grab a steak sandwich, brat, or salad at the Fest as well, along with soda and water for any designated drivers. A ticket also makes you eligible for a raffle with beer-related prizes, with the grand prize of a $500 bottle of beer from Samuel Adams. All proceeds from the event go to benefit the Chippewa Valley Youth Hockey Association.
