Menomonie Library Getting Renovations
A $100,000 renovation will force the Menomonie Public Library to close its doors from May 8 through Memorial Day weekend. Director Ted Stark says the major undertaking is the first renovation since the library opened more than two decades ago, and will include replacing all the carpeting, refinishing the lobby floor, and repurposing some areas. The latter of which will involve an expansion to the children’s area to better utilize the space and make way for an area for teens. Much of the $100,000 cost is covered by private funds and contributions from the Library Foundation and Friends of the Library. The city will pick up the bill (about $25,000) to replace an air conditioning unit.
