You Tubing Carnegie
Speaking of Carnegie Hall, anyone else want to play there. Anyone? Well, if you raised your hand vigorously or sheepishly, it doesn’t matter. As long as you have some musical talent and a video camera you have the opportunity to play the historic hall by submitting two videos: one showcasing your musical talent and the other featuring an interpretation of an original work by Tan Dun (Academy Award winning composer of 2000’s Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon). A panel of orchestra experts will thin out the entries and YouTube-rs will vote for the winners. An interesting marriage of modern technology and musical sophistication that I’m sure will produce some YouTube gems. I’m looking forward to perusing the throwaway bin to tell you the truth. Use Leong-Hyun Lim’s (“funtwo”) cover of “Canon in D” as a benchmark.
