Blue Devil Productions presents a delicious combination of indie soul and pop-rock at UW-Stout’s The Underground. Both acts hail from the Twin Cities and are set to introduce their unique musical interpretations on one stage. Vocalist, writer, and guitarist Mayda Miller describes herself as a petite, funk-rock, Korean-American. This Minneapolis music gem has gained national attention and was featured on the Rachael Ray Show, Good Morning America, and several Twin Cities TV stations. Mayda combines her urban inspiration with genre-defying sound, and original style, to create her 2007 EP, Stereotype. She was the first artist signed to former Prince drummer’s label, Sonic Matrimony. Mayda’s resume includes work with Soul Asylum and Chance Howard of Prince and The Time. Her EP is available at CD Baby or iTunes. The 757s replace Mayda’s funk with unapologetically explosive rock. Think classic-punk thrashing, with a splash of alternative rock influence. Chatted up by City Pages, the Star Tribune and Reveille Magazine, this band boasts an energetic, full-throttle, and proudly loud musical performance. The 757s debut album, Tell the Pilgrims it’s a Potluck, is produced by independent label Automatic Recordings.
