Jim Brickman and John Trones destined for State Theatre

Karrie Johnson |

When Grammy nominated pianist Jim Brickman, along with Minnesota native, national vocalist and recording artist John Trones make their Eau Claire debut Sept. 28, concertgoers at the State Theatre are promised an evening of incredible music mixed with a bit of wit. Trones himself says of their performances, “A lot of folks leave saying, ‘I expected the beautiful music, but I didn’t expect the laughter!’” Since they began collaborating in 1999, Brickman and Trones have toured virtually all over the United States, and sold out concert halls throughout Asia. Brickman will perform songs from his 2007 release, Homecoming, and will preview music from his upcoming album Unspoken, that he promises “will add new freshness to the show.” Trones will share original tunes from his best-selling album, “Romance,” an album he co-produced with Brickman. They’ll also be sharing a number of Jim’s notable hits, along with special guest vocalist Joanna Jahn. Both Brickman and Trones are excited to be bringing their musical talents to Eau Claire, but for Trones, who lives in Minneapolis, and whose vocal talents have taken him on journeys around the world, it will be extra special. “With Eau Claire being so close to the Twin Cities, it’s fantastic as a lot of my friends and family will be able to drive over for the show. I spend a lot of time in Madison, Milwaukee, and Green Bay, and I always feel like I’m home – same vibe, good people, and lots of beautiful lakes. You can’t beat that!”
