Getting Pretty Handsy

Claire Jeffries |

For the past few years the Children’s Museum of Eau Claire has used a new way to raise funds for the museum, and you have to hand it to them, it’s pretty creative. On Friday, July 11, the museum unveiled fifteen new hands for the Hands Across Eau Claire event. These fiberglass hands sit 42 inches tall and were created by local artists with designs ranging from local landscapes to abstract creations. Each sponsoring business will receive a hand to place on its property. The Hands Across Eau Claire event was created to raise awareness of the museum and its financial and physical needs. The museum hopes to raise $15,000 through this year’s hand sponsorships. The hands are an inventive way to decorate the city, and you have to admit, it’s a handy way to raise awareness.
