At this point, it's a total Eau Claire staple and "must" for any local or visitor who has the chance to attend: the Eau Claire Jazz Crawl. Downtown's Barstow Street was largely shut down to vehicle traffic to allow ease for attendees walking from venue to venue the evening of Friday, April 11.
Beginning at 5pm and running until 2am, this year's Jazz Crawl featured more than 40 musical performances at joints like The Stone's Throw, The Plus, and The Lakely, as well as more nontraditional music venues like the Eau Claire Children's Museum, Micon Downtown Cinema, and yours truly (The Local Store & Volume One building). Additional events included Friday and Saturday masterclasses – including instrumental and specialty sessions – as well as concert headliners John Clayton and Camille Thurman.
