Looking for some locally themed Halloween chills? The place to be this spooky season is the Russell J. Rassbach Heritage Museum in Menomonie for the third annual Ghosts of Dunn County Event (5-10pm Saturday, Oct. 15). During this eerie evening you’ll be able to go on a museum tour and meet “interpretive ghosts” who will spin tales of paranormal activity in Dunn County, such as the bizarre story of the Lynch poltergeist. The Minnesota-based Johnsdale Paranormal Group will also offer presentations about local paranormal activities – including an investigation of the Mabel Tainter Center for the Arts – at 5pm and again at 8pm. (The presentations will be identical, and your ticket will get you into one of them.) While you’ll want to leave your littlest ones at home, the event shouldn’t be too scarey for older children. Tickets cost $5 for adults and $1 for children and can be purchased at the museum or over the phone. For more information, call the Dunn County Historical Society at (715) 232-8685 or search for “Ghosts of Dunn County” on Facebook.
