Walk it. Run it. Push a stroller while you’re joggin’ it. Walk with a doc or run with a cop. Put on a spooky mask or celebrate a Paul Bunyan lookalike bash. Get covered in colorful dyes or glow in the dark and light up the skies. There’s so many ways to run a 5K, so check out these listings and register today.

Leader-Telegram Buckshot Run for Special Olympics Sep. 1, 6pm; Sep. 5, 7:30am-1pm • Carson Park, Eau Claire • ages 5-85 • 883-0833 • indianheadtc.org The Lil’ Buckshot event will be held on the Tuesday before Labor Day weekend. Race day registration starts 5pm and the 2 mile race begins at 6pm. Awards will follow the conclusion of the race. Concessions are available. Benefiting the local Special Olympics program. For those who can’t attend Tuesday, join us for the main event Saturday, Sept. 5, with a 5 mile run at 9am and a 2 mile event at 10:30am.

The entire course will be on trails that consist of grass, dirt, and wood chips. Race is held in parallel to the Oktoberfest activities held at the Fair Grounds. All proceeds benefit the McDonell Central High School Cross Country Team.

Walkers may register and start walking anytime 8-11 am and must finish by 1 pm. The 5K/10K routes go through the historic downtown, UW-Stout, a number of city parks, and along the Red Cedar State Trail.

Join dozens of law enforcement officers for this 5K to benefit local Special Olympics athletes. This unique evening run follows a 5K run and 1 mile walk route on campus and through parts of downtown Eau Claire. Registration includes a T-shirt and coffee and donuts at the finish line. Plus, a donut eating contest against the cops is guaranteed to be epic.
