On Saturday, local pop rockers Meridene celebrates the release of their second full-length album Something Like Blood to the masses. From Volume One: Meridene’s newfound ability to combine various styles of well-crafted songwriting, a central theme, and professional recording led to a truly remarkable album. “I guess the one thing I was surprised about,” says frontman Trevor Ives, “was how proud I am of the record. I really do wear it like a badge of honor.” Minneapolis indie pop trio Total Babe and local tin can punk/campfire folk rock band The Heart Pills open the show. Article. MARY | Comedian & Folk Humorist Mary Mack: Mary Mack and her mandolin won California’s Funniest Female Contest in 2005 with her endearing stage presence, little girl voice (her own), and off-kilter storytelling. She has been featured on the Bob and Tom Radio Show, XM’s National Lampoon’s Comedy Network, and was one of the top 12 finalists on The Last Comic Standing. Details.
