Sunday: Stay In the Loop

Sarah Dobs |

When communication fails between two large nations of the world, the next best thing to do is to poke fun at them - that's the premise for In the Loop. This fast-paced ensemble comedy tracks the lies, misunderstandings, good and bad intel, and PR blunders that escalate into a full blown crisis in the Middle East over the course of a few conversations and meetings between England and the USA. Though played for laughs, the movie demonstrates that even the most incidental factors and players can influence the course of history. (Davies Theatre, UW-Eau Claire; Sun. 6pm-7:30pm & 8:30pm-10pm; free)

VISUAL WORD | Vision & the Word Readings & Presentations: Part of the library's Vision & the Word art exhibition, the poets and artists that collaborated to create the exhibition features their work. (L.E. Phillips Memorial Public Library, 400 Eau Claire St., Eau Claire; Sun. 2pm, free)

STAGE | On Golden Pond: This is the love story of Ethel and Norman, who are returning to their summer home on Golden Pond for the forty-eighth year. We all remember the movie with Katherine Hepburn and Henry and Jane Fonda. Wry humor, much affection, and a keen sense of life well-lived have made this show a timeless classic.
