TONIGHT: Public Forum

Mike Paulus |

The City of Eau Claire is kind of bad about advertising these things, but tonight they’re holding the next installment in a series of public forums concerning civic engagement and fiscal issues. It’s a chance for you to talk directly to city officials about public projects, budget concerns, and the future. It’s a really unique opportunity that the city should be trumpeting a lot louder.

Tonight’s forum is for the residents of District 3 and begins at 6:30pm at the Boy Scout Service Center, 710 S. Hastings Way. From the city:

  • Subsequent forums are planned for each of the Council districts over the next several months as part of a City Council Fiscal Policy Advisory Committee (FISPAC) focus on expanding civic engagement opportunities regarding City projects and fiscal issues. These open public forums are designed to provide an opportunity for citizens to engage in public discussions about issues related to the continued provision of public services in the Eau Claire community.

The next two forums are May 18 at First Congregational Church and June 3 at the Community Table. (The District 2 forum was a few weeks ago.)

Go on and get civic.
