It’s interesting Wisconsin facts day! Because I know you all need to buff up on your Wisconsin trivia skills, here are some highlights of a 50 fact long list compiled by 50states.com in no discernable order.

First off, we are privy to 7,446 streams and rivers. 50states.com elaborates that if placed end-to-end they’d stretch 26,767 miles, which is enough to circle the globe. I don’t think my River Rat tube can handle most (if any) of those miles of water but I’m willing to give it a try.

You’re probably already aware of The House on the Rock, and realize it’s perched on a 60-foot chimney of rock, but according to 50states.com “the 14-room house is now a complex of rooms, streets, buildings, and gardens covering over 200 acres.” If you’ve never frequented the building I can assure you that no written explanation can prepare you for the random / wonderful things hiding inside its walls.

Number three on my list of an adaptation of a larger list is Belleville being known as the Unidentified Flying Object Capital of Wisconsin. If you are in the area, Belleville celebrates the original UFO sightings of 1987 annually during the last Saturday of October on UFO Day. Events range from a pet costume contest to a parade complete with paper mache flying saucers.
