Milwaukee Burger Company

Best Of

Milwaukee Burger is a beef hand-patting, fresh fry-cutting, sauce-creating kind of place (with really big, really good cheese curds). They have happy hours Monday-Friday 3-6pm and 9pm-close, and Saturday/Sunday 9pm-close, and have expanded their taps to a staggering 40 options. Their enormous Bloody Marys are ranked among the best by our readers, and they offer six different styles, including the Big Mil Bloody, garnished with a mini-cheeseburger, bacon, and cheddar cheese. Popcorn is free, and darts are available. Food served after 10pm on Friday and Saturday.

Mona Lisa's

Best Of

The dining menu at this Eau Claire original is known for its constant rotation, and what's available at the bar is no different. Mona's takes pride in the fact that its 14 taps are always specialties and are always rotating; the same goes for the wine list, which offers more than 20 options sold by the glass. The items that don't change are the famous Mona Margaritas, espresso martinis, Lisa's seasonal mezcal cocktail, and house-made infusions of fruit and herbs. The Mediterranean bistro vibe continues on the outdoor patio (with a fireplace), and the party room is suitable for 99 people.

The Mousetrap

Best Of

Known for its free live music almost every weekend, pool and dart leagues, and constant happy hour and game specials, The Mousetrap is a favorite downtown hangout. The classic tavern has a mixed atmosphere with people in back playing pool, darts, or foosball, others at the bar watching the game, some more in the live music nook enjoying the tunes, and a few outside on the back smoker's patio. They have 10 taps, and roughly 20 specialty beers. They also serve lunch, usually a specialty sandwich-and-soup combo. Open mic every Sunday.
