The Early Literacy Coalition of the Greater Chippewa Valley announced its latest Chippewa Valley Little Library on March 1, the new addition landing in Owen Park's playground.

The Chippewa Valley Little Libraries program offers community members access to a curated selection of diverse books for children – aimed at those ages 0-8 – and their families, which they can choose to bring home and keep. Each little library also contains information to empower and support parents and caregivers in the literacy development of their children, as stated by Family Resource Center of Eau Claire's executive director, Jennifer Eddy.

The actual installation of the Little Library was done thanks to the City of Eau Claire Parks Division and the library itself purchased thanks to Early Literacy Coalition partner, the Family Resource Center.

The Early Literacy Coalition also plans to launch Little Libraries inside the Bolton Refuge House, The Community Table, St. Francis Food Pantry, and the Eau Claire Area School District's Prairie Ridge Food Pantry, plus other sites in Chippewa County.
