The UW-Eau Claire Music and Theater Institute will open its doors to middle and high school students to find their passion for the performing arts while getting a taste of the college life this summer. This brand-new institute will offer four camps over four weeks, with three geared toward high school students, grades 9-12, and one for middle schoolers, grades 6-8.

The hope is to fill each week with around 30-50 participants. Each camp offers a week of hands-on experiences and team-building exercises, such as rock climbing, movie nights, and rehearsals for a concluding performance. Throughout each day, along with these skill- and team-building exercises, there will also be educational sessions. This program drives to polish overall artistic skills. The program is residential, giving the students the full dorm living experience. There will be a required 10-day quarantine prior to the start of each week’s camps, with regular testing throughout the week. The camps start on June 20, followed by sessions beginning July 25, Aug. 1, and Aug. 8.
