Tee Up 24/7 at Cowboy's Indoor Golf
Menomonie welcomes self-serve golf simulator business

One of the first signs of a Wisconsin spring, besides vanishing snow banks and blooming wood violets, is the appearance of eager golfers on (barely) green courses. But even in the spring and summer, sometimes the weather doesn’t cooperate when golfers have the time or inclination to play 18 holes – and that’s to say nothing of the long Wisconsin winter. And what about those times when you wish you could practice your drive in the middle of the night?
Whatever the weather or time of day, the Chippewa Valley’s newest golf business has lovers of this sport covered. Cowboy’s Indoor Golf, a 24/7 indoor golf simulator, opened late April in Menomonie.
“Whether you're a scratch golfer or just out to have some fun, our top-of-the-line golf simulator lets you play the world’s best courses without leaving town,” the business announced on its Facebook page. “Bring your crew and swing like a pro – rain or shine, day or night.”
As of the April 26 soft opening, Cowboy’s Indoor Golf featured a single bay with a 15½-foot-wide premium screen outfitted with a Uneekor EYE X02 launch monitor that keeps its digital eye on the ball. The system can accommodate both left- and right-handed golfers and has dual monitors so you can track your stats easily. And in keeping with all that technology, users can book their sessions online. Once they’ve made a reservation, they can unlock the door of the business with the help of their smartphone.
Patrons purchase play time per session, which include one person or a group. One session's rate to use the simulator during the day (7am-11pm) is $40 with one night session (11pm-7am) set at $30; the weekend rate is $50. One session includes 55 minutes of play time, with the final five minutes of the hour dedicated to cleanup before a new person or group begins.
While the website acknowledges that the business “will absolutely be a little rough around the edges to begin with,” they’re looking forward to feedback from users to make improvements. “This will be your place to enjoy when you can’t get out and do the real thing,” the website notes.
