Want to Hear an Aztec Death Whistle? Head to The Mabel Tainter on April 11
Terminal Three is pretty much guaranteed to put on the most unique musical performance you'll see this year

When you head to this terminal, you can board a flight for a new age of world music. On April 11, the historic Mabel Tainter Theater hosts Terminal Three, a trio of world music performers playing a distinct blend of styles and instruments: east and west, ancient and modern; resulting in a stirring blend of progressive world music. Did we mention their assortment of instruments includes the Aztec death whistle?
The trio consists of Greg Herriges, Michael Bissonnette, and Louis Sinclair (AKA "Rundio"). Herriges, founder of the trio, is a virtuoso of guitar and bouzouki, an instrument native to Western Asia, and the Balkans. Rundio performs on the unique and futuristic Chapman stick, a 10-stringed instrument that looks like just the top half of an electric guitar, but is a fully polyphonic instrument that can cover the total range of parts on its own. Michael Bissonnette is a jack of percussion, playing the glockenspiel, cajon (a Peruvian box-shaped drum instrument), frame drums, and the ehecachichtli or "Aztec death whistle" which has an uncanny similarity to the sound of a human scream.
Don't be alarmed! Together, the instruments combine to weave Terminal Three's brand of music that ranges from Mediterranean folk, Western pop, surf-jazz, and dazzling originals that synthesize these unique sounds into music all their own.
Tickets to Terminal Three's April 11, 7:30pm show at The Mabel Tainter Theatre (205 Main St. E, Menomonie) are available at mabeltainter.org. Keep up with the musical trio on Facebook.
