DOWN THE RABBIT HOLE: Menomonie-Based Podcast Talks All Things Peculiar
podcast covers the strange, from cryptic creatures, UFOs, to the Hollow Earth Theory
The Infinite Rabbit Hole podcast, founded by Jeremy Socha of Menomonie and produced in the Chippewa Valley, has been exploring the world’s least understood and unknown phenomena for four years running.
What started years ago as a therapy tool to help Jeremy through PTSD from an incident in the U.S. Navy has developed into a thoughtful podcast with a worldwide audience (it is currently No. 2 in South Africa on the Science Fiction podcast Apple Charts).
What makes the Infinite Rabbit Hole different from other podcasts in the paranormal and sci-fi genre is not only the deep-dive methods of its hosts and guest experts, but their diverse perspectives. In each episode one member of the podcast team – which includes Jeremy (obsessor of the unknown), Jake Owens (“the skeptical Christian”), and Jeff Fernandez (the “tinfoil hat conspiracy guy”) – shares research findings on the selected topic. Then the group conversation starts, each person providing their position and thoughts. In this way, the show largely avoids becoming an echo chamber of one line of thinking.
The show covers strange and misunderstood topics ranging from the more popular – such as Sasquatch and other legendary cryptid creatures, Hollow Earth Theory, alien abductions, and the Skinwalker Ranch – to local peculiarities like UFOs over Elmwood, the Wendigo, Slenderman, and Pepie, the monster of Lake Pepin.
Some of its most popular episodes are those covering government conspiracies, like the Gateway Process series, which dives into declassified CIA documents that reveal findings about the extension of human consciousness, as well as the phenomenons of Astral Projection and Out of Body Experiences.
