What’s better than stopping by a local small business? Visiting multiple small businesses all under one roof! Artisan Alley & Gifts (226 Main St. E, Suite A, Menomonie) is a consignment store hosting dozens of artists to sell a variety of crafts, art, and decorations.
Three blocks away from UW-Stout, Artisan Alley & Gifts is nestled between Dragon Tale Books and The Gin Mill right on Main Street in downtown Menomonie.
Artisan Alley & Gifts sells paintings, planter boxes, handmade clothing, jewelry, wind chimes, soaps, wood engravings, cups, and more as they continue to grow their catalog. About 28 artists are already represented in the store.
“I’m just looking for different, unique items that people make,” owner Missy Millar said. “I hope that customers find something unique and handmade that they can give out as gifts or for themselves.”
Millar started reaching out to artists towards the end of 2023, posting a message on Artisan’s Facebook on Dec. 1, looking for artists. The first sneak peek of an artist at Artisan Alley & Gifts was shared on Jan. 1, with Jen’s Homemade Pup and Kitty Treats, and the shop continues to give artist spotlights to introduce every artist in the store.
Artisan Alley & Gifts first opened its doors on Jan. 24, with a grand opening on Tuesday, Feb. 6. Now, the shop will be open Tuesday to Friday from 10am-5pm, and 10am-4pm on Saturday.
