V1 Staff |
Do you know a creative kiddo with a knack for writing? Get a pencil in their hand or a keyboard in front of ’em – it’s time to enter the Menomonie area writing contest for kids!
Open to Menomonie area youths ages 8-14, this writing contest – brought to life thanks to the School District of the Menomonie Area and the Menomonie Public Library – has only a handful of requirements and will accept submissions Jan. 3-Feb. 12.
The contest’s theme, “winter,” creates a large arena for creativity to run wild, and three awardees from each age group, elementary (10 and under) and middle school (11-14), will earn prizes for their written work. Elementary-aged entries have a word limit of 750 or fewer, while middle school-aged entries should be 1,000 words or fewer.
Submissions can be turned in through the online writing contest entry form or by bringing a physical copy to a person at the Menomonie Public Library’s (600 Wolske Bay Road, Menomonie) information desk. One submission per person.
The contest, open Jan. 3-Feb. 12, will award winners on March 4.
