Menomonie’s Wilson Creek Inn will be host to a video crew from America’s Best Restaurants, a national media and marketing company aimed at spotlighting independent restaurants across the country, on Friday, Sept. 15.
America’s Best Restaurants (ABR) will dive into the Wilson Creek Inn’s food and history, the local eatery’s owners, Jim Maguire and Kim Spizale, are slated to be interviewed about it all. The episode will be aired on the company’s various social media platforms including its Facebook page with 40,000 followers and YouTube channel which has garnered hundreds of thousands of views since 2021. ABR has filmed more than 900 episodes for the ABR Roadshow.
Independent restaurants can apply to be featured or are found through customer nominations. According to the ABR website, of the 20-plus Wisconsin restaurants it has featured, Wilson Creek Inn will be the first from the Chippewa Valley.
Owners Maguire and Spizale opened Wilson Creek Inn, formerly Skoog’s Parkside, in 2021, aiming to offer the community a more upscale dining experience in a unique environment. The restaurant aims for a classic Wisconsin supper club vibe, and the interior features wood panelling, brick pillars, warm tones, deer mounts, and lots of seating.
“What’s unique about this place is the interior and the construction,” Maguire said in a recent media release from ABR. “The woodwork and uniqueness of the building is indescribable. We try to have a smaller menu, but we change it quarterly, with weekly specials along the way.”
Maguire noted the restaurant’s most popular items include its ribeye steaks, salmon, and scallops, as well as its Friday night clam chowder.
ABR filming will take place at Wilson Creek Inn from 1-4pm on Sept. 15.
