The beer lovers over at Thrillist have done some research and put together a list of the 11 oldest still operating breweries in the U.S. And yee-haw, we've made the list. Being Wisconsin, though, we didn't have just one or two breweries on the list ... we have five. That's right, we make up almost half of the oldest breweries in the entire country

And coming in right at number 10 is the Chippewa Valley's own Jacob Leinenkugel Brewing Company. Opened in 1867 and later sold to Miller Brewing Company in 1988 Leinenkugel's still does 25% of all of their brewing in their Chippewa Falls headquarters and remains as one of the oldest brewing companies in the U.S.

The list also includes Stevens Point Brewery (#7), Miller Brewing Company (#6), Minhas Craft Brewery (#4), and Pabst Brewing Company (#3), making Wisconsin home to a whole lotta historic brew.
