Royal Credit Union, Tractor Supply Co. Add To Chippewa Crossing Growth
expanding business corridor just outside downtown Chippewa Falls will see more construction in the coming months
Over the past two weeks, two incoming developments have been announced for the growing commercial corridor off of Chippewa Crossing Boulevard and Hwy 29.
The first, Tractor Supply Co., shared its groundbreaking plans for a 21,930-square-foot “prototype store” at 715 Chippewa Mall Dr., Chippewa Falls – which required the purchase of a 3.65-acre lot – on June 19.
It will be the only Tractor Supply Co. location in the Chippewa Valley (though not its first in western Wisconsin), bringing a new option for farm equipment and heavier machinery, tools, lawn and garden items, sporting goods and more. The business aims for an end-of-year completion of its new store.
On July 1, Royal Credit Union announced its purchase of a lot along Mall Drive, where the longtime local financial institution will open a new office. The team at its existing office on Woodword Avenue will transition to that new space once finished – construction on the new site will begin in 2027 – with the downtown Chippewa Falls location remaining open as usual.
This stretch of land is already home to a Festival Foods, Kwik Trip, Culver’s, Caribou Coffee and Taco Bell, as well as the Toycen Ford Chippewa Falls dealership. Nearly all of those businesses have popped up within just the past handful of years.
These developments add another layer to the shifting business landscape in and around the city of Chippewa Falls, which has seen a batch of small business turnover on Bridge Street over the past year alongside more additions to the multi-use Market On River hub.
