Wisconsin, Through The Lens of Local Photographer Lisa Carey
recently released photography book offers 200 pages of state scenery and wildlife
Photographer Lisa Carey and fiber artist Mary Decker are the featured artists for the months of March and April at Chippewa Falls' Bridge Street Arts & Gifts (304 N. Bridge St.). Next weekend – Saturday, April 12 – the shop will host an artist reception for the duo from 1-4pm, where Lisa will be signing copies of her just-published book, entitled Living in the Moment on Nature's Time: A Photographer's Perspective of Wisconsin's Landscape, Wildlife, and Flowers.
Recently released by Inner Peace Press, the coffee table book is meant to be opened and perused at one's leisure. The 200-page hardcover features extraordinary full-color photographs through the prize-winning photographer's eyes – and the lens of her camera.
Mary, a local fiber artist, crochets purses, vessels, bottle cozies and more, and embellishes them with needle-felted pictures, embroidery, and beading. Her work will be on display during the April 12 reception.
The Bridge Street shop is an artist cooperative, currently featuring the work of 12 artists in its 777-square-foot space. The artists use a variety of different mediums to create their artwork.
Lisa's new photography book is available locally at Bridge Street Arts & Gifts in Chippewa Falls and The Local Store (205 N. Dewey St., Eau Claire), as well as online at innerpeacepress.com.
