See Contributes Essay to Anthology About Mourning
Acclaimed Chippewa Valley writer Patti See has contributed an essay to an anthology titled What Remains: The Many Ways We Say Goodbye, which was published in November by Gelles-Cole Literary Enterprises. The collection of poems and personal essays offers an exploration of “contemporary funeral and mourning rituals and practices,” according to the publisher. See’s essay, “Mourning Portrait,” was published in November 2018 in Volume One’s “Local Lit” section. In addition to creating a widely read blog (“Our Long Goodbye: One Family’s Experience with Alzheimer’s”), See’s writing has appeared in numerous publications, including Salon, Women’s Studies Quarterly, The Wisconsin Academy Review, Inside HigherEd, and the Leader-Telegram. What Remains includes the work of several dozen writers from around the world, including the United States, Indonesia, Ireland, France, Canada, and Mexico. The book is available through Amazon.
