Imagine getting home after a day’s work, dropping your keys on the counter inside, and taking a deep breath as you step outside to your backyard — a canopy of greenery and trees, soft sounds of scattered ponds nearby, enjoyed by wildlife as much as it is by you. That’s the vision for Summit Ridge.
As the historic city of Chippewa Falls continues to steadily grow, maintaining its natural, small-town charm is an intentional effort — perhaps especially when creating new housing and developments.

For the city’s newest in-progress neighborhood, Summit Ridge, the blend between natural beauty and modern convenience is central.
The CDPG Development group — comprised of local businesses including C&E Wurzer Builders — is building Summit Ridge as a commercial, multi-family and single family development. Several acres of undeveloped green space is woven into each piece of the total project, with about six acres separating the neighborhood’s commercial and multi-family areas.
“This area was starting to look like the next best area of growth in Chippewa Falls,” said Craig Wurzer, owner of C&E Wurzer Builders, pointing to the neighborhood’s proximity to the new Festival Foods grocery store, Kwik Trip and soon-to-open Aspirus Hospital.

Local partners C&E Wurzer Builders, Holzinger Homes, Chippewa Valley Excavating and Trendstone Surfaces are focused on emphasizing the best of the location, both in acknowledgement of preserving the natural features and creating the best environment for future homeowners.
While home construction hasn’t kicked off yet — roadwork began in late March 2026 — CDPG Development plans to break ground on new houses this October. Occupancy is expected for March 2027, Wurzer said.
20 single-family lots — three of which are already reserved — are bordered by beautiful outdoors walkways and ponds, located directly off of Summit Ave., and are located in a way that takes advantage of the land’s sweeping elevation. The multi-family area will result in a total 400 more units.
“The natural elevation from the north to south topography provides an elevated homesite and great views.”

The land’s shape, too, inspired the neighborhood’s name. “The natural elevation from the north to south topography provides an elevated homesite and great views,” Wurzer said.”
Summit Ridge is a tangible example of what’s next for residential life in the city of Chippewa Falls, offering accessibility to shopping, restaurants, health services and more, while providing incredible views of natural greenery and wildlife.
