The thunderous sound of more than 1,000 Harley-Davidson motorcycles echoed through the Chippewa Valley during the highly-anticipated Great Lakes H.O.G Rally from June 6-8.

The three-day Great Lakes H.O.G. Rally took place in Chippewa Falls and the Northern Wisconsin State Fairgrounds. “H.O.G.” stands for Harley Owners Group – the official riding club of Harley-Davidson Motorcycles.

The rally drew approximately 1,100 attendees with over 70% of ’em coming from outside the state. Attendees flooded in from all over the United States – including one enthusiast who traveled the distance from Venezuela!

Attendees were given the choice of more than 30 guided or self-guided rides with many must-see stops and sights throughout the area. Our local Chippewa Falls Harley-Davidson dealership and the Indianhead Rally Committee spent over one year planning for the event to ensure adequate lodging and coordination. Rally organizers were excited to share what they believe is some of the best riding in the Midwest and Driftless Region.

On Friday night, June 7, a procession was held in downtown Chippewa Falls as riders headed to Loopy’s Grill & Saloon for the official welcome event, a true sight to be seen as Harleys flooded the streets. Throughout the weekend, various activities and rides were scheduled, allowing attendees to explore the scenic roads of the Chippewa Valley.

Once an outsider, now an active member of the Harley-Davidson community, I have come to understand the deep sense of camaraderie and family among Harley enthusiasts. Organizing rides and rallies and sponsoring charities, the shared bond that goes beyond simply owning a Harley motorcycle is clear.

The Great Lakes H.O.G Rally is a celebration for all types of riders, the shared passion for the open road, a symbol of freedom, and the thrill of the ride making it a memorable weekend event.
