New Eco-Conscious Boutique is Just Right for Downtown Chippewa Falls
Lagom is filled with refined and unique pieces for every occasion
Being eco-conscious is a mindset that is slowly taking root throughout the Valley, and a new eco-friendly boutique is taking that mindset literally into its name. In Swedish, “Lagom” means “not too little, not too much, but just the right amount.” In choosing that name, owner Amy Burke Lepper is hoping to inspire conscious consumption of local and eco-friendly items for every occasion.
“Everything we carry is eco-friendly and many of the products are made by women-owned businesses,” she said. Lagom is umbrellaed under One of a Kind Interior Design, a design studio also owned by Burke. The two businesses work together to create an intentional, peaceful space.
Lagom offers items from Token (106 W. Grand Ave., Eau Claire), Milwaukee-based Fern and Nettle, and other repurposed materials-turned-décor. “I don't want to sell something just to sell something. We want what we sell to have meaning and purpose. … We consume so many things in this country that we don’t need,” Lepper said.
“I also want it to be a community space for artisans,” she added. As the space continues to support community efforts, Lepper hopes to expand customer experiences. “We have had a book signing for a local author and we are starting a knitting club. We are hoping to start a book club. The other wish is to hold workshops to support local artists and highlight their work.”
In addition to creating a physical space that’s welcoming to all who are looking for something unique, Lepper is working on launching a website soon to answer questions and keep interest on the rise. Stop in and browse each unique piece!
The shop is at 15 E. Central St. in Chippewa Falls and is open Monday to Friday 11am-5pm and Saturday 11am-3pm.
