Have you ever felt like biking up 30 hills in one ride? After a canceled event in 2020, Menomonie’s Sadistic Century ride is back. Whether you’re training for an Ironman Triathlon or just looking to challenge yourself, the Sadistic Century fits those qualifications.

Starting at Dunn County Recreation Park, this “fun and challenging” ride winds along 100-mile, 100-km, or 60-km routes through western Wisconsin, with a total elevation gain of 8,819 feet and more than 30 climbs throughout.

Shift down a gear to take this ride a little slower and really feel the burn, or push yourself to finish first – no matter your approach, the Sadistic Century is great for experienced and inexperienced cyclists alike. Ride support will be stationed periodically along the fully-paved route until 4pm. Once finished, a meal is provided to all participants.

The ride is scheduled from 6:30am to 4:30pm on Saturday, Aug. 21, in Menomonie. Registration prior to or during August costs $50, with day-of registration being $75. Those who register before August will also receive a free event T-shirt. All proceeds from the event will be donated to local food and shelter charities.

Check out the complete event schedule and a course map at the event’s website, sadisticcentury.com.
