More Cheese, Please: Local Curds Rank Among State’s Best
get your fill at this Chippewa Falls eatery
It’s no secret that we Wisconsinites love our cheese curds. And for Chippewa Vallians, one local restaurant can take credit as one of the best places in the state for us to sink our teeth into an ooey, gooey, mouth-watering cheese curd.
The Fill Inn Station in Chippewa Falls (104 W. Columbia St.) has made OnlyInYourState.com’s list as one of 18 restaurants that serves the best cheese curds in Wisconsin. And it’s no surprise: They’re hand-dipped in a Leinenkugel’s batter and fried to a nice, dark golden brown. At just $8.95 and served with ranch dressing, it’s a pretty easy decision to make a stop at the Fill Inn Station and try these delectable treats if you haven’t already. And if you have, go back for more! (Unfortunately, the restaurant decided through Nov. 27 because of the COVID-19 pandemic, but hopefully after that you can drop in for some curds, a burger, and some brews.)
Ellsworth Cooperative Creamery in Ellsworth – the self-proclaimed Cheese Curd Capital of the World – also made the OnlyInYourState list, as did eateries in Milwaukee, Madison, Green Bay, and elsewhere around the Badger State. Check out the full list here, or get some cheesy inspiration from this previously published list from TravelWisconsin.com, which also mentions the Fill Inn Station.
