On Tuesday, June 10, 25 South Middle School 8th graders performed a blend of original poetry, fiction, and nonfiction in front of a packed crowd at the Volume One Gallery. The event, known as The SMS Open Mic Explosion 2: The Final Countdown, featured work students developed during the Writer Workshop portion of the 8th grade curriculum. Students displayed outstanding courage, poise, and support on what was truly a night to remember.
