Second Fiddle Vintage Market Returns to Add More ‘Charm’ to Your Closet
Collective Charm, Seven Suns Vintage join forces for Chippewa Falls event
Second Fiddle Vintage Market is where cloth-bound, strung, patched, and sewed vintage clothing and refurbished furniture take modern living to the next level – with the right people to style it, of course. The classic shapes, unique designs, and one-of-a-kind nature of vintage and antique items add strong elements of whimsy to any home or person. With flashes of rare jewelry, metals, leather, lace, and more, it’s no wonder vintage has become a style staple. On Aug. 26, the second Second Fiddle Vintage Market is bringing classic items from across the Midwest to Chippewa Falls.
Hosted by C.F. favorite, Collective Charm with Johna Stern, and Eau Claire icon, Seven Suns Vintage with Savannah Smith, this collaboration aims to help folks find their “new” favorite pieces.
Hoping to double the size – and turnout – of the first vintage market event hosted last spring, Stern and Smith are stirring up giveaways, adding food vendors, and more — this time, outdoors! The first market hosted vintage vendors from Appleton, Iowa, Minneapolis, La Crosse, as well as local favorites.
“I wanted a wide selection of folks spanning across the Midwest so (the Valley) could experience an expansive shopping experience with something for everyone,” Smith started. “Since our first weekend open (at Seven Suns), we have had so many folks through our doors ranging from long-time collectors to those who are just starting to dabble in vintage.”
Vendors typically bring clothing items of all sizes and styles, with some people specializing in specific eras or aesthetics, while others focus more on jewelry, shoes, or various home items. Plus, while the market is going on, Collective Charm (16 W. Columbia St.) will be open right next door!
Vintage and antiques not only bring together a community of people who love new styles, new items, and new people to their lives, but it also introduces folks to a breadth of options for their own sense of style or charm.
“On the other hand,” Smith said. “About half our clientele is from bigger cities. … Hosting events give more incentive for those to come back and visit the Chippewa Valley. It’s a win for everyone.”
